| I'm so blessed! In my TESL/TEFL training the very last section of the regular certificate is making a big, perfect lesson plan. It seems like about 90% of the people doing this course fail this section at least...2 times. The 3rd time is the limit. Me? I'm so smart I failed it....well, 2 times... Remember, 3rd time's the limit! I was so scared after failing the first two tries that I didn't submit my 3rd try for a couple days. I changed so many things and went over every little detail, and then I'd put my mouse on "submit" and then jerk it away with a sudden re-occuring urge that I was going to fail. Finally, just before bed the night before last, I submitted it. I could hardly sleep for worry that I'd fail it again, but I tried to pray and trust God. The next morning, no news from my tutor. Hours ticked by, with no news. I got tired of worrying but there wasn't much else to do other than the easy part...trust God with it, because He knows what's good for me. When I first started this TESL/TEFL course my tutor would respond around 10:30 am, but as the course went on it got later and later. Yesterday, the most trying day of waiting, I didn't get a reply from him until almost 3:00 pm! Yikes! I was almost afraid to look....................
...
"ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL MODULE SUBMISSION, JENNESSA!
YOU HAVE COME TO THE END OF THE MARKED SECTION, AND HAVE PASSED YOUR COURSE - CONGRATULATIONS! "
Thank you God for working in me even when I don't fully trust you!!! Now I can see why I failed the first 2, also.
Now I am on to my specialized part of my certificate-Teaching Young Learners, and am working on completing a Specialist Certificate in Grammar. Yucky, but, lucky. I feel allot more confident when I know all this stuff ahead of time! I can hardly believe I was a teacher without so much of what I've learned from this course. How on earth but by God's grace?!
It snowed a little tiny bit last night, and the fog is resting on us. It's so beautiful! I hope it snows a few feet, but...We're not in Alaska anymore, thus it probably won't happen!
On another thing, I have received permission from my parents to go stay with some friends in Southern California where the fire ran through recently. It burned part of their land but they stayed behind in spite of mandatory evacuations and saved their house! Now I am praying about whether God wants me to go work there, stay here, or go somewhere else. I think it would be a blessing to be able to visit the family and help out with the work there. They are a family construction business and are trying to sell their house so there is allot to be done there, especially now that there was a fire and there is so much clean up work to do. We'll see what happens!
Now, I'd better get back to my TESL. I am brainstorming over teaching structures to young learners with little or no pre-knowledge of English. The structures being, "What's your name?/My name is...", "What is this?" and "What's he doing?"
"Describe,
step by step, how you would teach the following structures. Include any
visual aids you would use, what drilling (repetition) you would do and
what your instructions would be. You don’t have to write a full lesson
plan or activities.

| Last night I am doing something crazy. I am
laying in my bed thought about things in the mission field and I forget
what kind of gloves I were allergic to! The first thing that come to my
head is "gortex". Ah yes, gortex gloves! That is what the dentist uses
that maded me felt sick. Then I remember, "No, gortex gloves were
gloves for skiing! Those have not fit into my mouth!" so I thinking
more and cannot come up with the correct term. Suddenly, out of the
silence of the night I am calling out to Chantel, "Chantel! I hope you
aren't sleeping!" Chantel answering, "No, I am not. Why?" I am saying
then, "I cannot remember what kind of...OOOOh I remember now!!" and
Chantel is asking me what I am talked about. I tell her and she
laughing and says, "Latex!"
You
are probably wondered why why I was write like this. Well, in my TESL I
am learn about verb tenses all the time and I get tired of tenses! Why
did we had tenses in our English language! I wondering. SoOooO I was
tested this language to see why. Do you thought I knew now? | | |
| Boo! I don't celebrate Halloween on October 31 or April Fool's Day on April 1. It's an all year deal! ;) Hehe
Okay, so really, the point of this post is that...I'm posting! It's been a while, huh? You probably thought I fell of the end of the earth. No...I haven't found the end yet. My apologies!!!!!
In actuality, I'm rambling like this because I was drugged today, for the first time in....well, a long time. I had to get my Hep A&B and Tetanus vaccinations today. They were highly recommended to me in light of my up coming mission. Anyway, as you know, vaccinations really mess with the mind! (haha)
So....I know no one reads this. How do you like reading this, no one? I like writing it, so I hope you like reading it! You know, Xanga is kinda mean. I love it, truly I do, but I found this part about Xanga skins. Now I do not recall there being a skins option last I was here, but there is one now! SOoooOO, I found a nice one, and it let me preview it on my site, so I could see what it would look like! I did so, and it looked nice, so I clicked "save." Then it tells me that I would have to PAY to UPGRADE to PREMIUM in order to use a skin. Sorry guys...but I really do feel sorry for people who have enough money laying around that they can spend it on having skins for Xanga!

| Hi every/no-one!! It's been a while since I updated so I thought I'd do it now.... I've been studying for my GED lately...I have until June 5&6 to study, then those days I take my tests. I'm pretty nervous but I'm trying to trust God. Will you pray that I'll do well & glorify Him?
Yesterday I cut Deshka's hair....I really need to get a longer cutting guide for these clippers I have. They're really nice clippers, but I only have the shortest blade so its pretty hard to get her to look nice & not shave her completely!! I have some touch up work to do on her today, on her paws & between her 'toes'. It's fun cutting her...once I get around to it. I love her long silky hair though, so I always put off cutting it. I left her ears all the way long & am going to comb them out today and probably cut them, cuz it looks goofy to have the rest of her short and then these long ears....maybe I'll post some pictures.
Colorado is so beautiful! I mean, the weather is so great! I'm spoiled now, and if we move to somewhere rainy it'll just feel so wierd! I like getting rain, but all this sunshine is just great! I can go outside all the time and just enjoy it! It's been in the mid 80's lately...I can hardly believe it! It's soooo nice, although when we lived in AK, I would probably be laying around under the sprinkler to stay cool! At night when I'm trying to sleep I almost wish I could do that...my room doesn't stay cool. I open the window all the way and it doesn't cool down until sometime in the early morning & then I can pull my covers back on. Well, I'm off to clean the house. I've got it all to myself today since dad is at work & mom & Chantel are in town....friday cleaning too! I enjoy it though, as long as I have some fun music to listen to & sing with, and my good ol' doggy as my buddy, even though she enjoys leaving her footprints on my nicely mopped & waxed floors! Dogs are just so awesome!!!
Alrighty----until next time!!!!! T.L.C (no, not tender loving care....it stands for something else, which I will tell you about sometime later)

| Well, today is another day of my life, so I suppose I should tell ya'll about it!! I
was home alone for most the day, so I studied my GED book, went outside
and played with my dog & *tried* to fly a kite. I'm going crazy
with this kite! When I was over at my friend's this weekend, Adam was
taunting me because Joshy & I couldn't keep the kite up in the sky
long enough for anything hardly, while he could walk around, hold it
with one hand, sit down, whatever he wanted, without the kite he was
using crashing. I told him he was a child prodigy (sp??). (He's 19 )
Well, when I got home, I had to see if it was him or the kite. Believe
me, it was him! This kite DOES NOT like me! grrr...someday I'll
conquor it-someday!!!!! After playing around, I built a shelf in
the chicken coop where I keep my cat, so I can put his bowls up where
straw doesn't fall in his water and get it dirty so fast. It was fun!
Mell (my cat) sure seems to like it! I also did some messing
around on the computer, studying EMT/EMS/P/SAR stuff. It is sooo
interesting! I want to be an EMT sooo badly...but mom says I gotta wait
until I'm married or have a big guy to go with cuz she's worried about
me going for training or working as one as a single girl. Oh well....At
least she's said I could take flight school! All I have to do is figure
out how to get the money! Student loan maybe? That's what Adam
suggested. We'll see what I can do. For now I just need to finish my
GED so I can throw myself into whatever training I need for whatever
career I take. I loooooove flying and would love to do that-I hope I
can. Mom would really like me to become a flight instructor. Sounds
like a plan to me...or maybe a dream? Oh well, ever heard "When you
dream, dream big?" I guess I'm good at that...I'm pretty good at
watching my dreams get shot down from thier place up in the stars
too....life!
I've been trying to figure out how I can get myself to decide on a
theme for my website! I wish it had a specific thing it should be
about! It would make it sooooo much easier! Right now I'm starting to
make the graphics for a springy/outdoorsy look. I just have to decide
on a web layout...that's the hardest part for me, too! *sigh* I guess
I'll probably never make it into web design. Graphic design-maybe, but
webdesign is just not working for me! =[ Anywhos, I'll end this
post with a song I just found on dreams. I really like the lyrics,
dunno if I've ever heard it though..
(Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband)
When you cry, be sure to dry your eyes,
'Cause better days are sure to come.
And when you smile, be sure to smile wide,
And don't let them know that they have won.
And when you walk, walk with pride,
And don't show the hurt inside,
Because the pain sill soon be gone.
(Chorus)
And when you dream, dream big,
As big as the ocean, blue.
'Cause when you dream it might come true.
But when you dream, dream big.
And when you laugh, be sure to laugh out loud,
'Cause it will carry all your cares away.
And when you see, see the beauty all around and in yourself,
And it will help you feel okay.
And when you pray, pray for strength to help to carry on,
But when the troubles come your way.
(Chorus)
And when you dream, dream big,
As big as the ocean, blue.
'Cause when you dream it might come true.
But when you dream, dream big.
(Dream big.)
(Dream big.)
When you cry be sure to dry your eyes,
cause better days are sure to come.
And when you smile be sure to smile wide, and
don't let them know that they have one.
And when you laugh be sure to laugh out loud,
'Cause it will carry all your cares away.
And when you see, see the beauty all
around and in yourself, and it will help you feel okay.
And when you pray, pray for strength to
help to carry on when the troubles come your way.
Boy, that song sure sounds like something I shoulda written! Anyway, until next time....... ~Jenniegirl
